Ksamil Islands

Ksamili, only 15 km away from Saranda, has truly miraculous water and remains one of the most frequented areas by visitors. Situated close to the Ionian coastline, they fall within the jurisdiction of the Ksamil Municipality in the Saranda District. They take up a surface of 15 ha, with the land and sea accounting for 5 ha and 10 ha, respectively.

They are situated at around 7.5-15 m above the sea-level. Rocky islets located close to one another, they are covered by typical Mediterranean vegetation.  The sea water is rich in fauna and flora, including spermatophytes and Pinna nobilis, species protected under international Conventions to which Albania adheres. They make up a unique and very representative area of the Albanian rocky Ionian coastline.
